Feeling Stressed?
How mindfulness & neuroscience can lower stress, up productivity (and give you more peace of mind) Date: Fri, 7 June, 3:00 - 4:30
Location: University of London, Senate House, London, UK Registration: 2 openings left, send email to [email protected] |
Can stress harm your productivity and effectiveness at work? Unfortunately, the answer is yes. When we feel heightened stress, our nervous systems goes into that fight or flight state. In this state, our brains are foggy, and we see fewer options. This means our problem solving abilities are compromised.
On the flip side, shifting a little focus to your well-being can put you in a more calm, clear-headed, optimal place. This mind-set shift (and activation of the parasympathetic nervous system) can help you not only to be more effective during your everyday work, but also help you to be more focused, creative, and even a better teammate.
Join us for a hands-on, experiential session to explore this topic and engage in some positive psychology and mindfulness-based practices to bring you back to your "best self". What you learn can also be applied to helping your students / clients to build more resilience to better handle their own stress.
At the end of the session (4:30 - 5:00pm), you are invited to stay for an open conversation about the topics that are most relevant to careers practitioners. This will be a short session of sharing best practices.
Feedback from Workshop Participant:
"Sabrina Wood’s presentation was phenomenal! I was impressed by Sabrina's willingness to share some of her personal challenges. Her honesty created a safe, non-judgmental space where participants felt comfortable opening up about their own experiences. After identifying several of the most common stressors, Sabrina provided effective, actionable steps and strategies to reduce and manage our stress. I left the session feeling more relaxed and empowered to manage my stressors."
